Acupuncture does not typically hurt.  It is a gentle procedure that brings about deep relaxation and gives your body the chance to heal on a very deep level.  Points on the feet, legs, hands, and arms are used often to affect other parts of the body.

The point being needled in this image, “Kidney 6”  or Zhao Hai (Shining Sea in English) is used traditionally to “Tonify Yin” of the kidneys.  It also opens the Yin Qiao Mai (or meridian) which is coupled with the Ren Mai, one of the main channels influencing Fertility, menstruation, and the health of the growing child in utero.

This point can also be used to resolve sleep disturbances, night sweats and certain types of anxiety. Acupuncture is very versatile!
